SCA Garb

Written by Mermaiden on Friday, December 17, 2010 at 5:17 PM

For starters, here's what I've done:

1 - (done) Peasant top for him.  Essentially, (the top right one)

2 - (done) We made some Bog coats in the SCA class so those required some hand sewing. They are now a part of our garb!

3 - (to-do) I made some skirts for me, though I have to re-do the inside one.  I didn't have much time so I put together the long skirt out of a decorative sheet.... lol!  outfit "c" on the Right.

4 - (to-do) I also have to make the top (the white one underneath). I didn't have time at all for one before our first event but I had another shirt that was suitable to wear, at least.

5 - (to-do) I also aspire to attempt the vest, though I am nervous, as it involves light boning. LOL.  We'll see how that goes.  I'll probably make the hair thingy, too.

6 - (done) I now have a new use for the blue dress I made!  Thankfully with the addition of the corset I bought for DragonCon, it looks suitable now, too.

7 - (done) Oh, and the cape.  Of course, the cape goes well with this.

- (bought) I had found the most perfect pair of boots at a Thrift Store to go with my Blood Elf costume; turns out, they double just as perfectly for garb! ;P

- (bought) David already had a cape, and some other gear from the Museum replica store.  He now has a couple pairs of pants, too.

- (to look for) He has some shoes he found that will do for now, though he'd like to replace them when he comes across better suited ones.  I may like some new ones myself if I come across anything.

- (bought) So excited that we have gathered pretty much all of our feast gear now, too!  David went on a journey to Ye Ole' Thrift Store where he found lots of goodies.  I went back with him and found another couple of items including a basket.

- (done) A temporary fighting tabard.  He took care of his fighting armor and all that.

- (to-do) I still need to make him a better tabard once we work out his Device settled!  (Actually, I know enough to go on so far, so that won't be a problem.)

So that pretty well sets us up, for the time being.  I have lots of dress patterns I bought that I'll start gathering fabric for, after I decide on a Persona. :)  I'd like it to fit, at least somewhat, if possible.  Though I think whatever it is I'd like to do a lot of black & reds, and also blues.
